Meditation has got multiple benefits from stress reduction to increased self awareness and all the yogis, yoginis, many of the greatest athletes, leaders and entrepreneurs are encouraging us to practice meditation in order to tap into our latent potentials and initiate a deep, inner transformation that has a positive impact on our daily life as well by becoming more focused, confident and centred.
Most of us are familiar with the term of 'mindfulness' and its ideology of staying fully engaged with the present without being distracted by our, often unhelpful, thoughts about the past or future. Meditation is the a natural next-step after learning how to be mindful.
During meditation our mind becomes more receptive, open, creative and less critical. We dip into a lighter state of awareness, we become more intuitive, our self awareness grows, we cultivate compassion, kindness. With practice we can transcend into an even deeper state of awareness where where all the real 'magic' happens; feeling the connection with everything around us, feeling love and bliss and we become more grounded and a better human being altogether.
Regardless our motives to meditate; weather it is for spiritual reasons in order to discover our True Self or it is a tool for personal growth to help us becoming a better version of ourselves, developing a meditation practice is beneficial for each and every one of us. It is not an easy journey as it can be very emotional at times and requires self disciple but once you start experiencing the benefits you will not want to stop.
