90 min (60 min massage + 30 min meditation)
What is this treatment?
In a nutshell (please find the longer explanation below):
During the treatment as you relax into the session you enter into a barely-awake, meditative mind state and your subconscious mind will be very receptive and open to engage with meditation. To take advantage of this I will either play a specific guided meditation or I will guide you though a meditation straight after the massage.
The massage - meditation rationed the type of meditation can be tailored to individual needs.
Who benefits from it?
If you are new to meditation or want to make positive changes in your life through meditation then this session will help your mind becomes more familiar with this meditative state thus enabling you to practice meditation at home more successfully. It will also give a prolonged psychological and spiritual benefit of the massage.
The longer explanation:
This is an interesting one. We all know how great and relaxing a massage can be and many people simply nod off or are just barely awake during a session. In that ‘barely awake’ state the brain wave activity slows down to a lower frequency, which is called 'Alpha'. In this state we are more receptive, open, creative, less critical and we dip into the lighter state of awareness and this is the state where meditation begins.
From my personal meditation practice I realised that one of the reason why people give up meditation (including me a fair few years ago) is because they do not know what they need to feel and how to stay focused in a meditative state. So when I went back to meditation a few years ago and finally persevered practicing it, I realised it became easier each time I practiced it because my mind became familiar with the feeling and understood where it 'needed to be'.
I then took a meditation course that was based on the Silva-Method, which was more popular back in the 80ies and 90ies, however personally I found it amazing and it gave me an insight into the relationship between meditation and general well being. So I though what would happen if I combined massage and meditation and instead of ‘waisting’ that amazing Alpha state the client naturally goes into during the massage we can actually use it to do a real meditation session as well… The results are amazing, everyone absolutely loved it so far!
